58A thereof and to read as follows:
58B. The Military Department is authorized and empowered to
acquire by purchase or condemnation certain real properties lying
in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, which properties are needed at
sites upon which to erect armories for the construction of which both
State and Federal funds are available.; PROVIDED THAT THIS
AUTHORIZATION SHALL EXPIRE TWO YEARS AFTER THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

AN ACT to add new Section 281B to Article 24 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County",
sub-title "Roads", to follow immediately after Section 281A, said
section having been enacted by Chapter 437 of the Acts of 1943,
prohibiting the erection or maintenance of billboards or other
similar structures, signs, posters or display advertising on WITH-
IN 500 FEET FROM a portion of the Stephan Decatur Memorial
Highway in Worcester County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 281B be and is hereby added to Article 24 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wor-
cester County", sub-title "Roads", to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 281A, said section having been enacted by Chapter 437 of the
Acts of 1943, and to read as follows:
281B. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association or
corporation to erect or maintain billboards or other similar struc-
tures, signs, posters or display advertising of any kind whatso-
ever on any WITHIN 500 FEET OF THAT portion of the Stephan
Decatur Memorial Highway in Worcester County commencing
from the private road running easterly from the said highway to
the property of Thomas B. McCabe and terminating at the south
end of said Stephan Decatur Memorial Highway. Provided, how-
ever, that nothing herein shall apply to any such billboard or
other similar structure, sign, poster or display advertising erected
and in being at the time of the passage of this Act, and provided
further that nothing herein shall prohibit sign advertising any
lawful business, roadside service or home occupation conducted
upon the premises of an owner of land along said roadway, or articles
