ny, passed at November session one thousand eight hundred and
four, which by its own limitation would, together with a supplement
thereto passed at December session one thousand eight hundred and
thirteen, expire at the end of the next session of assembly after the
first day of February next, may be continued for a further term;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
said act, entitled, An act to incorporate the Chesapeake Insurance
Company, and the aforesaid supplement thereto, be and the same
are hereby continued, and shall be and remain in full force until
the first day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and
thirty-six, and until the end of the next session of assembly which
shall happen thereafter, unless the saint; shall before that time be
repealed by law, provided that no such repeal shall go to affect any
policy that may be made, or any contract already in existence, at
the time of said repeal.
2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contained shall be
construed to prevent the legislature of this state from passing, at
any time hereafter, any law laying a tax on the said institution,
not exceeding twenty cents per annum in each hundred dollars of
their actual capital, if the legislature should deem it expedient so
to do.

CHAP. XCIII.
An Act further to continue an Act, passed at November Session, eighteen hun-
dred and ninety five, entitled, An act to incorporate an Insurance Company
in Baltimore Town.
Whereas the stockholders in the Baltimore Insurance Compa-
ny have prayed, that the act by which they were incorporated, en-
titled, An act to incorporate an Insurance Company in Baltimore
Town, which by its own limitation, and that of the continuing act
of November session eighteen hundred and four, would, with its
several supplements, expire at the end of the next session of assem-
bly, after the first day of February next, may be further continued;
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
said act, entitled, An act to incorporate an Insurance Company in
Baltimore Town, and each and every supplement thereto, and all
acts or parts of acts repealing any parts of the said act of incorpo-
ration, or otherwise changing or modifying the same, be and the
same are hereby continued, and shall remain in force, until the first
day of February in the year eighteen hundred and thirty-seven,
and until the end of the next session of assembly thereafter, unless
the same shall before flint time be repealed by law, provided that
no such repeal shall go to affect any policy that may be made, or
any contract already in existence at the time of said repeal.
2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contained shall be
