Guest, the sum of one hundred dollars, and to the Reverend H. L. Davis, the

session, out of any unappropriated money in the treasury.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore advance to Jehu Chand-

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to each member and

Resolved, That the reports made to the legislature by the several banks of
this state, in pursuance of the resolution of last session, be transmitted to the
treasurer of the western shore, to whom the said banks are required by their
charters to report annually.

Relative to the
state debt

No. 48.
Resolved by the general assembly of Maryland, That the treasurer of the
western shore be and he is authorised, to pay the whole principal and interest of
the bank loans of 1817 and 1818 reimbursabe in 1820, in the event of the trea-
sury receiving from the general government, on the balance of the state's claims,
the sum of $31400 00 during the current year; otherwise to discharge one half of
the principal and interest of said loans, to such of the several banks to whom the
same is due, as the governor and council shall direct.

Relative to print-
ing the election
law

No. 49.
Resolved, That the governor and council have printed and distributed, to
the justices of the levy court, four hundred copies of the election laws for the use
of the judges of the elections, and that it be the duty of the clerk of each county
to distribute them to the judges of the election, with their warrants, to be return-
ed to the clerk, by the judges, on the day appointed by law to make their returns
of the elections.

el Sprinkle

No. 50.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Anne-Arundel county
court, on being satisfied that the negro named John, or Johnson, convicted in said
court, at September term, 1818, of murder in the second degree, on the body of a
certain Nicholas Mathews, and sentenced to the penitentiary, is the slave of the
petitioner, Daniel Sprinkle, shall be and are hereby authorised and empowered, to
value the said negro, and the same shall be levied and paid as in such cases is pro-
vided by law, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

lishing the law for
the stay of execu-
tions

No. 51.
Resolved, That the governor and council be requested, to publish as early
as possible, the law relative to the stay of executions in as many newspapers as
they may deem necessary, for the information of the people, and that they be re-
quested to transmit an authenticated copy of said law to the clerks of the differ-
ent counties.

No. 52.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby au-
thorised and required, to pay to Doctor Colin M'Kenzie, the survivor of Doctor
James Smyth, or his order, out of any unappropriated money in the treasury.
the first instalment of the loan authorised to be negotiated by them on the credit
of the state, by a resolution of the general assembly for the improving the hospi-
tal, which instalment becomes due in the present year.

No. 53.
Resolved, That the examiner general shall lay before the next general as-
sembly, the amount of fees he may receive in the present year, on oath, and that
the treasurer of the western shore thereafter, pay to him, of his order, such sum,
in addition to said fees, as shall amount to the sum of eight hundred dollars for the
present year.
