tees, and their successors, so as most effectually to answer the ob-
ject and design of this act, towards the advancement and promo-
tion of knowledge and virtue.

CHAP. 109,

CHAPTER 110.

An act for the relief of Joseph Darden, of Talbot county.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the judges of Talbot county court be, and they are hereby autho-
rised, to extend to Joseph Darden, of Talbot county, the benefit of
the existing insolvent laws of this state, upon his producing to the
said court, at the next session thereof, the assent in writing of two
thirds of his creditors in amount.

CHAPTER 111.

An act authorising John Stevens, the elder, and Nicholas
Martin, Administrators of James Clayland, late Sheriff
of Talbot County, to complete the collections of the said
Clayland.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
John Stevens, the elder, and Nicholas Martin, administrators of
James Clayland, late sheriff of Talbot county, deceased, be and
they are hereby authorised and empowered, to collect until the first
day of May, eighteen hundred and twenty, all balances due to the
said Clayland us sheriff of Talbot county, in the same manner as
he the said James Clayland could have done within the time limit-
ed by law, any law to the contrary thereof notwithstanding.
2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said John
Stevens and Nicholas Martin, before they proceed to execute the
property of any person or persons for any dues or fees in virtue of
this act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the
same, at least thirty days previous to levying such execution, an
account, written in words at full length, of the dues or fees de-
manded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed, that they
have not received any part thereof, or any thing in security or sa-
tisfaction of the same, more than (if any) is credited; and further,
that it doth not appear from any book or paper of the said Clay-
land, that the same, or any part thereof, hath been paid, more than
(if any) is credited, or any thing given in security or satisfaction
of the same.

CHAPTER 112.

An act to incorporate the Trustees of Saint Lucas Reformed
Church, in Union Town, in Frederick county.
Whereas, sundry inhabitants of Union Town, in Frederick
county, have by their petition set forth to the legislature, that
they have purchased a lot of ground in said town, and have erect-
ed thereon a house for public worship, and pray for an act of in-
corporation for the regulation and organization of the said house
of worship; and it appearing reasonable that the prayer of said
petition be granted, therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Jacob Appier, senior, Joseph Greenwood and Philip Hiteshew, from
