Resolved, That the governor and council be requested to direct the attorney-
general to prosecute any remedy which the state may have against the said bank
to secure itself from loss in the aforesaid transaction.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to general Charles
Ridgely of Hampton, late governor of Maryland, or to his order, the sum of one
hundred and eighty-two dollars, it being the amount paid by him over and above
the appropriation that was made at December session 1815, for furnishing the go-
vernment house, as appears by his general account and vouchers, forwarded to
the general assembly a. its present session.

No. 38.
Resolved, That the treasurers of the eastern and western shore, be and they
are hereby directed, to proceed in the collection of the debts due to the state from
individuals, banks and counties, of their respective shores, its provided by law, and
to cause suits to be brought for the same, whenever it may be necessary and thought
available to do so, and to report annually to the legislature the progress of such

suits, and the situation of all such suits.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby autho-
rised and required, to pay Richard Loockerman, late auditor, the salary allowed
him by law up to the time the present auditor shall qualify and commence the dis-
charge of his duties as such.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Cornelius Mills, ser-
geant at arms, the sum of thirty dollars; to John Sullivan, door keeper to the
house of delegates, the sum of thirty dollars; to Gottleb Grammer, messenger to
the senate, the sum of thirty dollars; to Henry Coulter, door keeper to the senate,
the sum of thirty dollars, for taking care of the furniture of their respective rooms.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay quarterly, each and
every year, unto Joseph Cresap, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a lieu-
tenant, during his life, as a further compensation for his services during the revolu-
tionary war.

order, the amount of his bond to the state, bearing date the 16th day of July

treasurer of the western shore, in favour of the paymaster of the 23d regiment of
Maryland militia, for the amount ascertained due to the officers and men of said

according to the vouchers exhibited

Resolved, That colonel Thomas Ennalls and Henry Hicks, of Denwood, of
Dorchester county, be and they are appointed commissioners, and are hereby au-
thorised and directed, to enquire whether there be now living any of the Indians to
whose use were reserved certain portions of the Choptank Indian lands, or to
whom were granted annuities, and to report their proceedings to the next general

assembly.

Resolved, That the governor be and he is hereby authorised and requested,
to purchase five copies of Seybert's Statistical Annals of the United States, and pay
for the same by an order on the treasurer of the western shore, which copies shall

senate, and one for the executive.
