several counties of this state, and paid over in equal portions to
such persons in each county, as the legislature may hereafter ap-
point.
27. And be it enacted, That if the president and directors of said
bank shall at any time refuse to pay specie for their notes when
called on, the charter shall be and is hereby declared null and
void; provided in case of such forfeiture the said bank shall be au-
thorised to recover, and liable to pay, all debts actually due at the
time of said forfeiture as if no forfeiture had happened.
28. And be it enacted, That if the president or any director, the
cashier or any other officer of the said bank, shall be concerned, di-
rectly or indirectly, in purchasing any note or notes, bill or bills,
at more than lawful discount or interest, and information thereof
be given and supported to the satisfaction of a majority of the board
or quorum of directors, his or their seat or seats of office shall be
vacated, and the directors shall fill up such vacancy or vacancies.
29. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue in force until
the expiration of the year eighteen hundred and thirty-five, and to
the end of the next session of assembly thereafter.

CHAPTER 94.

A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the relief of
Elizabeth R. Snyder, of the City of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the said Elizabeth R. Snyder be and she is hereby declared capa-
ble to take, accept, receive and hold, in her own name and right,
without the molestation, interference, hindrance or consent, of
her husband Charles L. Snyder, any monies, effects, estate or pro-
perty, of any nature or description, which she could or might,
were she a feme sole, take, receive, acquire, or derive title to, either
by gift, bequest, devise, descent, purchase or otherwise, and her
right and title thereto to defend in any court of law or equity in
this state, and the same to sell, convey and dispose of, at her will
and pleasure.

CHAPTER 95.

A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate the
Trustees of the Bladensburg Academy, and for other pur-
poses.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall be lawful for the trustees of the Bladensburg Academy, or
a majority of them, to propose a scheme or schemes of a lottery or
lotteries, for raising a sum of money not exceeding ten thousand
dollars, and to sell and dispose of the tickets therein, and may
draw such lottery or lotteries, provided the said trustees, or such
of them as shall act under this section, shall before the sale of
any ticket in said lottery, enter into bond, jointly and severally, to
the state of Maryland, in the sum of twenty thousand dollars, con-
ditioned that they will well and truly, within six months after the
drawing of said lottery shall commence, apply so much of the mo-
ney arising therefrom as will satisfy the fortunate adventurers for
prizes drawn by them, and shall apply, within one year thereafter,
the balance to the erecting of an academy in or near Bladensburg,
