ed for the faithful performance of the trusts and duties required
and imposed on him by this act, and any order or decree of the
chancellor, which bond shall be recorded in the said court, and on
an attested copy thereof, suit may be maintained by any person in-
terested, and such trustee, so to be appointed, shall have all the
powers, and be subject to the orders and controul of the chancel-
lor, in the same manner as the trustee named in this act.

CHAPTER 47.

An act for the benefit of John Hoye, and Mary his wife, of
the Town of Cumberland, in the County of Allegany.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland That
John Hoye, and Mary his wife, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered to remove and bring into this state a mulatto wo*
man, a slave, named Matilda, and her two children, at any time
within one year from the passage of this act, on their having the
said slaves duly recorded in the county court of Allegany within
six months after the said removal, any law to the contrary notwith-
standing.
2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contained shall be
construed to enable the said Hoye and wife to sell or dispose of the
said slaves, imported by virtue of this act, until (he slaves shall
have resided within this state three whole years next preceding
such sale.

CHAPTER 48.

An act for the relief of Richard Walker's three children,
Peggy Walker, Nancy Walker, and Richard Walker, of
Saint-Mary's County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Saint-Mary's county, be and they
are hereby directed, at their annual meeting, to assess and levy on
the assessable property of said county, for the use of Peggy Wal-
ker, Nancy Walker and Richard Walker, the sum of thirty dollars
to each of them, which said sums of money, when collected, shall
be paid over annually by the collector of said county to such per-
son as the judges of the orphans court of said county shall direct.

CHAPTER 49.

A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to provide for the
Education of Poor Children in Kent, Talbot, Cecil,
Anne-Arundel, and Montgomery Counties.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland That
the property of no person, lying and being in Kent county, shall
be liable to be taxed for the purposes mentioned in an act, entitled,
An act to provide for the education of poor children in Kent, Tal-
bot, Cecil, Anne-Arundel, and Montgomery counties, unless the
assessable properly of such person, lying in Kent county, shall be
assessed to the amount of three hundred dollars, any provisions in
the said act to the contrary notwithstanding.
