CHAPTER 196.

All additional Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to
establish and regulate a Market at Bridge-Town, in Kent
County, and for other purposes therein mentioned, and
also to change the name of said place to Millington.

Whereas, it is represented to this general assembly, by sundry
persons resident of Bridge-Town, in Kent county, and Sand-Town
in Queen-Anne's county, that by a law passed November session,
seventeen hundred and ninety-seven, chapter twenty-eight, and the
several supplements thereto, they were authorised and empowered
to elect commissioners, with certain powers, to regulate the affairs
of said towns, and to establish a market, as by the said act and its
supplements is prescribed, and that they, through inattention, have
failed to make their elections as therein prescribed, by reason,
whereof they have lost all power under said laws, and have prayed
that a law may pass reviving the said laws for their benefit, and
the prayer of the petitioners appearing reasonable, Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the inhabitants of Bridge-town in Kent county aforesaid, and al-
so the inhabitants of Sand-Town in Quern-Anne's county, shall be
entitled to all the benefits, privileges, immunities, powers and au-
thorities, given to them by the act of assembly passed November
session seventeen hundred and ninety-seven, chapter twenty-eight,
and the several supplements thereto, in as full and ample a manner
as if they had regularly from time to time made their elections un-
der the provisions of said act and its several supplements; Provid-
ed always, that the first, election for commissioners be held on the
first Monday of March next, and on the first Monday of March in
each and every year for ever thereafter.
2. And be it enacted, That from and after the passage of this law
the said two towns shall be considered as one, and shall be known
and called by the name of Millington.

CHAPTER 197.

An act to confirm and make valid the Proceedings of the
Levy Court of Calvert County since the year eighteen
hundred and fourteen, and for other purposes.
Whereas, the court house of Calvert county was destroyed by
the enemy in the year eighteen hundred and fourteen, and doubts
are entertained as to the legality of the proceedings of said court,
Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all proceedings of the said court since that period be and the same
are hereby confirmed and made valid.
2. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Calvert county he
and they are hereby authorised and empowered, at any time before
the first day of April eighteen hundred and eighteen, to nominate
and recommend to the governor and council, inspectors of tobac-
co for the several inspection warehouses in Calvert county, any
law to the contrary notwithstanding.
