may be sustained by individuals through whose lands the said
road may pass, taking into consideration the advantages and dis-
advantages, and return the same to the levy court of said county,
together with the plot and certificate as above directed; and the
damages so ascertained shall be levied and collected as other
county charges in said county are, and shall be paid over to the
persons entitled to receive the same; Provided nevertheless, that
no money shall be levied or assessed for the purpose of paying
the damages aforesaid until the said road shall be opened and clear-
ed agreeably to the provisions of this act.
5. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall be en-
titled to receive as a compensation for their services in perform-
ing the duties required by this act, the sum of two dollars per
day, to be levied, collected, and paid, in the game manner as other
county charges in said county.

CHAPTER 69.

An act, entitled, An act to repeal so much of the act, en-
titled, An act to encourage the destruction of Crows
in the several Counties therein mentioned, as relates to
Queen-Anne's County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the act, entitled, An act to encourage the de-
struction of crows in the several counties therein mentioned,
passed at November session, eighteen hundred nine, chapter
203, as relates to Queen-Anne's county, and the same is hereby
repealed.

CHAPTER 70.

An act to allow William Waller, late Sheriff and Collector
of Somerset County, further time to complete his Col-
lection.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That William Waller, late sheriff and collector of Somer-
set county, be and he is hereby authorised and empowered
to collect, until the first day of January, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighteen, all balances due him as sheriff or collector of
Somerset county, in the same manner which he could or might have
done within the time limited by law.
2. Be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said Wil-
liam Waller, before he proceeds to execute or distrain the pro-
perty of any person or persons for taxes, public dues or officers
fees, in virtue of this act, to deliver to such person or persons
chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previous to the
levying such execution or distress, an account, written in words
in full length, of the taxes, public dues or officers fees, demanded
of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he
hath not received any part thereof, nor any thing in security or
satisfaction for the same, more than credit given, to the best of
his knowledge.
3. Be it enacted, That the same William Waller, before he
derives any benefit from or under this act, shall lodge his collec-
