executors or administrators shall have remedy, by an action on
the case, for the recovery of any loss or damage they may be sub-
ject to, or suffer by the executor or administrator whose powers,
shall have been revoked as aforesaid.
5. And be it enacted, That in the recess of the sessions of or-
phans courts the register of wills in the several counties of this
state, upon application, may receive inventories and accounts of
sales, examine vouchers, and state guardian's executors and ad-
ministrators accounts, subject to the review and final passage or
rejection by the orphans court.
6. And be it enacted, That the registers of wills shall be and
are hereby authorised to take probats of accounts against deceased
persons estates that are proper to be brought before them, or be-
fore the orphans court, for passage or settlement, in the respective
counties in which they act as registers, and to receive six and one
quarter cents for each probat so taken,

CHAPTER 204.

An act to provide for the Payment of the Loans made by
the State.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Benjamin Harwood, trustee for the state, be and he is
hereby authorised and directed, to transfer to such of the banks
and individuals who have loaned money to the state under a re-
solution of May session, one thousand eight hundred and thir-
teen, so much of the exchange six per cent, stock of the United
States of eighteen hundred and twelve, as will amount to their
respective claims as aforesaid.
2. And be it enacted, That the trustee as aforesaid shall not
be authorised, under this act, to make any transfers as aforesaid,
unless such banks and individuals are willing to receive the said
stock at the highest market price, but not less than par, in the
discharge of their respective claims; and that the trustee pro-
ceed immediately after the passage of this act, to notify the re-
spective banks or individuals having claims as aforesaid, of his
readiness to transfer; and if any bank should refuse or neglect
to receive the transfer at the highest market price at the time of
such notice, then the trustee is hereby authorised to sell the same
at the highest market price, but not less than par, and to apply
the proceeds of such sales to the payment of the said several
claims.

bring slaves
into the state.

CHAPTER 205.

An act to empower Henry Howard, of John, of Mont-
gomery County, to bring into this State certain Negro
Slaves therein mentioned, from the State of Virginia.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Henry Howard, of John, be, and he is hereby authorised
and empowered to remove, import, and bring into this state, at
any time within one year after the passage of this act, two ne-
gro slaves, by the names of Bill and Mima, which he became pos-
sessed of in right of his wife, as he may now have a bona fide
absolute right unto, and which slaves, or the mother or mothers
of which slaves, shall have been a resident or residents of the
