No. 56.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to Louis Gassaway,
chief clerk of the house of delegates, the sum of one hundred dollars; to Thomas
Rogers, chief clerk of the senate, one hundred dollars; to John Stevens, junr.
assistant clerk of the house of delegates, one hundred dollars, and to James G.
Davis, assistant clerk of the senate, the sum of fifty dollars, as an additional com-
pensation for extraordinary services during the present session.
Resolved, That Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Wright, of Queen Ann's county,
and he is hereby authorised and directed to appoint a committee of three per-
sons, whose duty it shall be to distribute in an equitable manner any sum of mo -
ney received from the sale of hides made at his instance among those inhabitants
of Kent Island who were injured by the depredations of the enemy on their cattle in
the late war.
No. 58.
Resolved, That the examiner general shall lay before the next general assembly,
the amount of fees that he may receive in the present year, on oath, and that the
treasurer of the Western Shore thereafter pay to him or his order, such sum in
addition to said fees as shall amount to eight hundred dollars for the present
year.
No. 59.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby authoris-
ed and directed to pay to the trustees of the Harford county Academy, or to their
order, the sum of five hundred dollars on the first Monday of October annually,
out of any unappropriated money in the treasury, as a donation to said academy.
No. 60.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay unto Jonathan Tutwiller,
or order in quarterly payments, a sum equal to the half pay of a sergeant, instead
of that of a private.
No. 61.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to his excellency the
governor, or his order, the residue of the sum which still remains in the treasury,
appropriated under a resolution of November session eighteen hundred and twelve,
for the purpose of furnishing the government house, and such additional sum as
may be deemed requisite for the repairs necessary thereto, and furnishing the same,
not exceeding fifteen hundred dollars.
No. 62.
Resolved, That treasurer of the Western Shore pay to John Sullivan, or to
his order the sum of fifty dollars for his services, as messenger to the court of
Chancery.
No. 63.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Short be, and he is hereby directed
to pay to Basil Lucas, an old revolutionary soldier, or to his order annually a sum
of money equal to the half pay of a sergeant.
No. 64.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby authorised
and directed to pay unto Gassaway Watkins, late a captain in the revolutionary
War, annually in quarterly payments, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a
Captain, in lieu of the sum already allowed him by a resolution passed at Novem-
ber session eighteen hundred and eleven, as a further remuneration for those ser-
vices which so essentially contributed to the independence of his country.
No. 65.
Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby authorised
and requested, in the recess of the Legislature, to arrange with the general gov-
ernment for the establishment of such sites within this state for the completion
and establishment of fortifications as may be agreed on, and the jurisdiction or
the same is hereby relinquished to the United States.
No. 66.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to John T. Stoddert a
member of this Legislature the sum of one hundred and twelve dollars, for twenty
eight days attendance during the session, which has not been allowed to him
