Repeal.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all and every part of the
ninth section of a supplementary act passed at November session
eighteen hundred and seven, to which ibis is a supplement, as is
contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this act be, and
the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 208.
An act annulling the marriage of George Little, and Mary, his
wife.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the marriage of the said George Little, and Mary his wife,
heretofore solemnized he, and the same is hereby declared to be
null and void, and the said George Little, and Mary his wife,
are hereby divorced a vinculo matrimonii; Provided always,
that nothing herein contained shall be construed to illegitimate
the children of the said Mary Little, and George Little, born
prior to the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 209.

An act authorising a lottery to raise a sum of money for certain
purposes therein mentioned.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That Henry Thompson, James Sterrett, John M'Fadon,
William Gwynn, William M'Donald, George Stiles, Ludwig
Herring, Charles Wirgman, Samuel Chase, George Winches-
ter, Thomas Sheppard and Hezekiah Price, or a majority of
them be, and they are hereby authorised to raise by way of lot-
teries, a sum of money not exceeding fifty thousand dollars over
and above all expenses and commissions allowed on sales of tick-
ets for the purposes therein mentioned, or such person or per-
sons us a majority of them shall authorise may sell the tickets in
such lotteries in the city of Baltimore, or in any part of the state,
free from any tax or charge thereon, for the purpose of deepening
and walling up all that part of Jones' Falls in the city of Balti-
more, that may be bounded by public streets; and also tor con-
veying a stream of water that passes down Harford street in said
city to the basin of Baltimore, in a culvert or tunnel below the
surface of said street, the one half to be applied for deepening and
walling the falls, and the other half for culvering Harford street.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That if any one or more of
the persons above named as managers to conduct, the said lotteries
shall die, resign or refuse to act, the Mayor and city Council of
Baltimore may appoint one or more managers to fill the vacan-
cy thereby occasioned, and the person or persons so appointed
shall have the same powers and authority to act under this law
as those who are named herein.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That before the managers
herein before named or to be appointed as aforesaid, shall proceed
to act under this law, they shall execute a bond to the state of
Maryland in the penal sum of one hundred thousand dollars,
with condition, that they will well and truly pay all prizes that
shall be drawn in any lottery which they shall propose in vir-
tue of this act, at the expiration of sixty days after the con-
clusion of the drawing of such lottery, to the persons holding
the tickets entitled to such prizes if the same shall be demanded
within twelve months after the conclusion of such drawing;
and they will apply the amount raised by such lottery or lotteries
