subscribers and stockholders therein; & transfers of stock
in said company may be made by corporations or bodies
politic of theirs took in said company in such manner as the
said company shall and may from time to time by their
laws direct and appoint.

Road not be-
ing complet-
ed the right to
revert.

30. AND BE IT ENACTED, That If the said com-
pany shall not proceed to carry on the said work within
two years from the passage of this act, or shall not com-
plete the same in six years thereafter, then the right of
said company to such road shall revert to the county.
AND WHEREAS, in making said new road; the
bed of the old road is frequently departed from, and
doubts are entertained whether the proprietors of the
land through which such parts of the road pass are au-
thorised in shutting up the same; Therefore,

be shut up.

31. BE IT ENACTED, That wherever the new road
shall depart from the bed of the old road, it shall and
may be lawful for the president and managers of the said
company, with the consent of the owner or owners of
the land through which the old road passes, to shut up the
same.

CHAPTER 72.

Passed Jan.
23, 1815.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act to estab-
lish a bank, and incorporate a company under the
title of the bank of Somerset.

Notes made
valid.

SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That notes issued, or that may be issued
by and in the name of " The President, Directors and
Co. of the bank of Somerset," shall have the same va-
lidity, and be equally binding on the corporation, as if
issued in the name of " The bank of Somerset."

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the bank of So-
merset may discount notes for any length of time not
exceeding six month!;, that may be deemed expedient by
the board of directors.

CHAPTER 73.

An act to incorporate the Baltimore Hose Company.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That John Davis, president of said
company, and such other persons as are now or hereafter
may become members of the same, shall be, and are here-
by declared to he one community, corporation and body
politic forever hereafter, by the name and style of "the
first Baltimore Hose Company ;" and by that name they
shall be and are hereby made able and capable in law, to
have, purchase, receive, possess, enjoy and retain to them
and their successors, lands, tenements, rents, annuities
or other hereditaments, and the same to grant, demise,
alien or dispose of in such manner as they may judge
most conducive to the interest of the company; Provided

Proviso.
