CHAPTER 1.
An act to confirm certain acts of Justices of the Peace
who hold or have held offices under the General Govern-
ment.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the official acts heretofore per-
formed of any justice of the peace in this state, who, at
the time he acted as such, held an office under the go-
vernment of the United States, shall have the same effect
and operation as if such justice of the peace had not been
an officer under the government of the United States.

An act authorising the Trustees of the Roman Catholic
Church in the city of Baltimore to purchase a lot to be
used as a burying ground.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the trustees of the Roman Catho-
lic Church in the city of Baltimore (at the time being,)
be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to
purchase a lot of ground in Baltimore county, not exceed-
ing six acres, and to hold the same to them and their suc-
cessors, as and for a burial ground for the members of
said church, and for no other use or purpose whatever.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act for the re-
lief of John Messier and David Rinehart, trustees of
James Farquhar of Frederick county, passed at Novem-
ber session eighteen hundred and twelve.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That all the powers and authority vest-
ed in David Rinehart and John Messier, trustees to
