court, or any one judge thereof in court sitting be, and
they are hereby authorised and directed to order the body
of the said Philip German, junior, to be released from
imprisonment in the jail of Baltimore county, on any ex-
ecution process now issued, or which may hereafter issue
from Baltimore county court, on judgments now obtain-
ed, or which may hereafter be obtained by any creditor
of the said Philip German, junior, whose debt shall have
existed prior to the application of the said Philip German,
junior, for the benefit of the act passed in 1805, entitled
"an act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors," and

of the several supplements thereto; Provided always,
that the creditors or any creditor of the said Philip Ger-
man, junior, shall have a right to take out a writ or writs
of fieri facias, or of attachment against the goods, chat-
tels, debts, credits, lands, or tenements of the said Phi-
lip German, junior, in the same manner as if the body
of the said Philip German, junior, bad not been taken in
execution at the suit of such creditor or creditors; And
provided always, that nothing in this act contained shall
be construed to release the said Philip German, junior,
from his liability to his creditors or any of them.

CHAPTER 17.

Provisos.

An act to change a part of the public road leading from
Blackwater river to the head of Hungar river, in Dor-
chester county.
WHEREAS, It is represented to this general assem-
bly by the petition of Joshua Meekins, of Dorchester
county, that a part of the public road leading from Black,
water river to the head of Hungar river in said county is
capable of being changed and altered so as to relieve the
said petitioner and a certain Thomas H. Meekins, a mi-
nor, from much of the inconvenience and injury to which
they are subjected by reason of the said road's pacing
through their plantations, and at the same time to short-
en its distance. That in the proposed alteration they are
the only proprietors whose lands will be affected; but in
consequence of the minority of the said Thomas H.
Meekins, and his incapability to assent, the levy court
of said county have no power to permit the said road to
be changed or altered; for the purpose of giving the said
levy court adequate powers in the premises,

Preamble.

SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the le-
vy court of Dorchester county, in their discretion, upon
the application of the said Joshua Meekins, to permit the
said road to be changed and altered, and in all respects to
use and exercise the same discretion, powers and autho-
rities in the premise as if the said minor were of full
age, and did actually assent to the said change and alter-
