Wm. Potter.

No. 28.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to Lieut. Col.
William Potter, or order the sum of one hundred and twelve dollars seven-
ty two and an half cents, out of any unappropriated money in the treasury,
in order to re-imburse him the sum advanced for the maintenance of twen-

ty two deserters from the British navy, agreeably to the order of Brig.

Jacob Gibson.

No. 29.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
directed to pay out of any unappropriated money in the treasury to Jacob
Gibson, the sum of eighty four dollars and fifty cents, as a compensation
for his trouble and expense in transporting two six pound cannon from
Baltimore to St. Michaels, some time in the month of May, in the year
eighteen hundred and thirteen.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to Caleb Stewart,
door-keeper of the house of delegates, the sum of sixty dollars, and Hen-
ry Thompson, messenger to the senate, the sum of fifty .........
compensation for their services in taking care of the furniture of their res-
pective rooms in the recess of the general assembly.

Making an
appropriation
for raising
troops.

No. 31.

Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby auth-
ised to establish from time to time, such rules and regulations for the re-
cruiting service, for the troops authorised to be raised by an act entitled,
act to provide for the better defence of the state, and to prevent the necessity
of frequent calls of the militia as they shall judge proper and that the bounty
for every non-commissioned officer, musician or private who shall enlist
in the said troops, shall be fifty dollars, to be paid at the time of enlist-
ment.
Resolved, That for the bounties and other necessary expenses attend
the raising of said troops, there shall be appropriated the sum of the
hundred thousand dollars, to be paid by the treasurer of the Western Shore
out of any unappropriated money in the treasury.
