No. 14.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
authorised and required to pay to John T. Stoddert, aid de camp to briga-
dier general Stuart, a sum of money equal to the pay of an aid de camp to
a brigadier general, for his services in that station, from the sixteenth day
of June to the first day of August following, out of any unappropriated
money in the treasury.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore he, and he is hereby
authorised and directed to pay to the inspectors of the penitentiary of the
state or their order, the turn of twenty thousand dollars, for the purpose of
discharging the existing debts of that institution.

No. 16.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to the reverend
Roseph Wyatt, the sum of one hundred dollars for his services as chaplain
to the house of delegates the present session, out of any unappropriated
money in the treasury.

No. 17.
Resoled, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
directed to pay to John Brewer, register of the land office the sum of eigh-
ty two dollars and seventy five cents the amount of his account for the trans-
portation of certain papers and records belonging to the land office.
Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby autho-
rised to direct the register of the land office to cause record liber P. T. No.
1, and Anne Arundel county rent roll No. 1, to be transcribed, and certain
of her records to be secured by repairing or rebinding them, and that they
draw on the treasurer for such sum or sums of money, as may be necessary
to carry this resolution into effect, and that the treasurer pay the same out
of any unappropriated money in the treasury.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
directed to pay to Jehu Chandler the sum of twenty dollars, the same
being the amount of his account for printing since the closing of the journal
of accounts.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to Augusta Den-
ny, widow of the late capt. Robert Denny, annually in quarterly payments, a
sum of money equal to the half pay of a captain, as a compensation for
the valuable services rendered by her late husband during the revolution-
ary war.

Resolved, That his excellency the governor be, and he is hereby request,
ed to forward with all convenient dispatch to the president of the United
States, and to each of the senators and representatives in congress from this
state, a copy of the act for the better defence of the state, and to prevent
the frequent calls of the militia, passed at the present session of the Legis-
lature.

No. 22.
Whereas, the journal of accounts was ordered to be closed up to Sunday
last, and the business of the state has required the attendance of the mem-
bers longer than was expected,
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
required to pay to each member of the Legislature attending in discharge
of his Legislative duties on this day, six days allowance in addition to what
was allowed on the journal of accounts, and also six days allowance to the
officers of each house.
And whereas, from the severe frost and inclemency of the weather, the
members from the Eastern Shore and some of the officers of both houses
will be compelled to go around the head of the bay in order to attain their
respective places of abode,
