now stands, or any part thereof, together with the materi-
als of the old gaol, and also so much of the let or parcel of
ground on which the scale-house is situated as will leave
sufficient ingress and egress to and from the same; and
the proceeds of sale, if made, shall be applied towards
defray ing the expences authorised by the first section of
this act.

May rent a
building.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That until the new
gaol is completed, it shall be competent for the said jus.
tices of the levy court to rent and provide a suitable build-
ing or buildings for the safe custody of public prisoners ;
and to pay for the same out of the fund authorised as a-
foresaid or any unappropriated money at their disposal.

CHAPTER 89.

A supplement to the act entitled, an act for the, benefit
the Presbyterian Congregation of Queen Ann's and
Caroline counties.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the trustees of the Presbyterian
congregation of Queen Ann's and Caroline counties shall
have full power and authority to sell and convey the
whole or any part of the lands, tenements or heredita-
ments declared to be vested in them by an act of the gene-
ral assembly, passed at November session, eighteen hun-
dred and twelve, entitled, "An act for the benefit of the
Presbyterian congregation of Queen Ann's and Caroline
counties" upon such terms and in such manner as they
shall deem most advantageous.

Proceeds.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trus-
tees shall have power and authority to invest the proceeds
of the sa1e of the property aforesaid, by them to be made in
such funds, property or stock as they shall consider most
conducive to the interest of said congregation, and shall
continue to apply the interest arising therefrom in such
manner as they in their judgment shall consider most be-
neficial for the interest of said congregation.

CHAPTER 90.

An act to provide for the, sale of certain lands in Balti-
more, county, late the property of John Ridgely, de-
ceased.

Orphans court
may order a
sale.

Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the orphans' court of Baltimore county,
be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to or-
der and direct the sale of a tract of land called " Pay my
Debts." Also a lot of ground situated on the Reister's
Town turnpike road and a lot in Ridgely's Addition to
Baltimore Town, all in Baltimore county, late the pro-
perty of John Ridgely, deceased, and now owned by his
children, upon such terms as the said court shall deem
most beneficial for the said children.
