LAWS OF MARYLAND.

MARYLAND, SC.

At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun

and held at the City of Annapolis, on the first Monday of
December, being the sixth day of the said month, in the
year of our Lord, 1824, and ending on the 26th day of
February, in the year 1825, his excellency Samuel Stevens,
Jr., Esq. Governor, the following laws were enacted, to

wit:
   

CHAPTER 1.

A Supplement to the act entitled, An Act for the relief of Greenbury
L. Raleigh, of Dorchester county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That any
judge of Dorchester county court, or any justice of the orphans
court of said county, be, and he is hereby authorised and em-
powered to grant to Greenbury L. Raleigh, of said county, the
benefit of the several acts of Assembly, passed for the relief of
insolvent debtors: provided, the said Raleigh shall in all respects,
(except that of residence) comply with the requisition of said acts
of Assembly.

CHAPTER 2.

An act to alter and change the name of John Staup of Baltimore county
to John Staup Murray.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of John Staup, of Baltimore county, be, and the
same is hereby altered and changed to the name of John Staup
Murray;, and it shall and may be lawful for the said John Staup
Murray, at all times hereafter, to be called and known by, and
hold and use the name of John Staup Murray; and by said name,
to sue and be sued in any court of law or equity.
2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promises, contracts,
assurances, deeds and lawful acts whatsoever, hereafter to be
made, done or executed, by said John Staup Murray, shall be of
the same force and effect, and equally valid, to all intents and
purposes, as if the name of John Staup Murray, had been the
true and proper name of John Staup.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it
