to act as justices of the levy court of Frederick county, not more
than one of whom shall reside in the same election district: and the
persons so appointed, shall have and exercise all the powers at
present vested in the levy courts of the several counties of this state.
2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts of Assem-
bly, heretofore passed, contrary to, or inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 35.
An act for the re-valuation of real and personal property in Anne Arundel
county.
Sec. 1. Be enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the tax for Anne Arundel county, be,
and they are hereby authorised and directed immediately after the
passage of this act; or as soon thereafter as may be practicable, to
proceed agreeably to the provisions of an act passed at November
Session, eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled, An Act for the
valuation of real and personal property in the several counties of
this state, to re-value and re-asses the real and personal property
within said county.

8. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners, be, and they
are hereby authorised to complete the said assessment, and make
return thereof, agreeably to the provisions of the forty-tilth section
of the before recited act, on or before the twenty-fifth day of
June next, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

3. And be it enacted, That Joseph N. Stockett, Joseph Howard,
Horatio Ridout, Abner Linthicum, Samuel Brown, junior, Tho-
mas Hood and Thomas H. Carroll, be, and they are hereby crea-
ted and appointed commissioners of the tax for Anne Arundel
county, in the place of the present board of commissioners, whose
power and authority as such are hereby made null and void; and
the said Joseph N. Stockett, Joseph Howard, Horatio Ridout,
Abner Linthicum, Samul Brown, junior, Thomas Hood and
Thomas H. Carroll, ate hereby authorised and empowered to car-
ry into full effect and operation, all the provisions of this act, and
the act of eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled, an "Act for the
valuation of real and personal property in the several counties of
this state."

CHAPTER 26.
An act for the relief of Seal C. Stinchcomb of the county of Frederick.
Whereas, Beal C. Stinchcomb of the county of Frederick, has
set forth by his petition, in writing, to this General Assembly,
that, as surviving partner of the late William E. Williams, with
whom he was connected in business, until the death of said Will-
iams, under the firm of Williams and Stinchcomb; he is charge-
able with numerous debts, which he is, at present, utterly una-
ble to pay; and that all his property has been seized and sold to
satisfy judgments that were obtained against him, as surviving
partner as aforesaid; and that many judgments remain open against
him, which, if now enforced, must consign his body to jail, at the
mercy of his creditors, as he is without the present means of sa-
tisfying any of said judgments, and without the reasonable pros-
