Securities of

No. 32.
Resolved, That all proceedings on the part of this state, against Thomas
Stallings and others, securities of Thomas Pollard, late Sheriff of Allegany
County, be, and the same are hereby suspended until the first day of Decem-
ber, eighteen hundred and twenty-seven: Provided, The said securities shall
pay one third of the debts due to the state from Thomas Pollard, aforesaid,
with six percent interest, and all the costs, on or before the first day of De-
cember, eighteen hundred and twenty-five, and the like sum of principal, and
all the interest and cost due thereon, on or before the first day December
eighteen hundred and twenty-six, and the remaining part of said principal,
with all the interest and costs due thereon, on or before the first day of De-
cember, eighteen hundred and twenty seven: Provided, Nothing herein con-
ttained shall be construed to release the right of the state to any property, real
or personal, which has been already taken in execation, or the property of any
of the persons aforesaid, and if the first payment is not punctually paid on or
before the time specified, this Resolution shall then be considered null and
void.

Revolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it shall be the duty
of the clerks of the court of appeals, and the clerks of the several county
courts in this state, to report to the next General Assembly, by the second
Monday in January next, the number of cases pending in their respective
courts at the time of making said reports, the number of cases decided during
the present year, and the number of suits instituted during the same term; the
said clerks specifying in their reports the different kinds of action, the num-
ber of continuances which may have been had, and the real causes for which
said continuances have been granted.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to John Brewer,
William Kilty, Gideon Pearce and Thomas S. Alexander, each, the sum of
sixty dollars as a compensation for their extraordinary services during the
present session.

No. 35.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, be and he is hereby
authorised and required to pay to doctor Colin McKenzie, of the city of Bal-
timore, the surviving partner of Smith and McKenzie, or to his order, out
of any unappropriated money in the treasury, the amount of the sixth in-
stalment of the loan authorised to be negotiated by them on the credit of the
state under the resolution of the thirtieth January, eighteen hundred and
seventeen, for the improvement of the Baltimore hospital, when that instal-
ment becomes due; Provided, that before such payment, said McKenzie
give bond to the state with penalty in double the amount, and with security
to be approved of by the said treasurer, conditioned for the payment over by
said McKenzie, of the amount of such instalment to the owner or owners of
the loan aforesaid, said bond to be filed in the records of the court of appeals for
the western shore, and an office copy thereof under seal, to be as good and suf-
ficient evidence in any suit which may be brought on the same in any court
in this state, as the original would be if produced and proved.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, be and he is hereby au-
thorised and directed, to pay to Jonas Green or order, the sum of eight hun-
dred dollars, for the printing so contracted to be done, out of any unappro-
priated money in the treasury; Provided however, that the said Green, shall
first complete the printing, and shall deliver to the governor and council for
distribution, the number of copies of the votes and proceedings so contracted
for.

No. 37.
Resolved, That the Governor and Council be, and they are hereby author-
ised and requested, to determine the amount of compensation due to the com-
missioners appointed under the act of eighteen hundred and eighteen, chapter
two hundred and six, to adjust and define the western boundary line, and to
all sub-agents employed in carrying that law into effect, not exceeding the
sum of four dollars per diem for their personal services, and to audit and as-
certain the monies due on the account of expenditures necessarily or proper-
ly incurred by said commissioners, including the compensation due to them,
or those employed to assist them, in carrying such law into effect, the expen-
ses incurred by the lamented death of one of the commissioners, and all inci-
dental expenses which they may deem necessary or proper, and to draw on
