3. And be it enacted, That if this act shall be confirmed by the
general assembly of Maryland, after the next election of delegates
in the first session after such new election as the constitution and
form of government directs, in such case this act and the altera-
tions of the said constitution and form of government shall con-
stitute and be valid as a part of. the said constitution and form of,
government to all intents and purposes, any thing therein contained'
to the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 206.
An act to abolish imprisonment of Females for Debt.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That from'
and after the passage of this act, it shall not be lawful to imprison
any female for any debt contracted after the passage of this act,
Provided, that nothing herein contained shall prevent the issuing of
of the writ of ne exeat in any case where the some may be now
lawfully issued.

CHAPTER 207.
An act to continue in force the acts of Assembly which would expire with,
the present session.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all such
acts and parts of acts as. would expire with the present session
of assembly, be, and the same are hereby continued to the last;
Monday of December next, and to the end of the next session of
assembly which shall happen thereafter, except an act passed at
November session, seventeen hundred and ninety eight, chapter
eighty six, entitled, "A supplement to the act entitled, An act for
establishing and1 securing the salary of the chancellor," and also,
except the act passed at November session, seventeen hundred and
ninety seven, chapter seventy one, entitled, An act to make a tem-
porary allowance to the chancellor, in addition to his salary as
chancellor and judge of the land office.

CHAPTER 208.
An act for the payment of the journal of Accounts.
Whereas, it appears by the journal of accounts of this session,
that there is due from this state, the sum of forty two thousand
seven hundred and ten dollars, and twenty six cents, current mo-
ney; Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
treasurer of the western shore, be, and he is hereby authorised
and required to pay the several persons, their executors, adminis-
trators, assigns or orders, or to such of them as shall offer to re-
ceive the same, the several sums of money allowed to them res-
pectively, as they appear to be settled and ascertained by the said
journal of accounts, out of any money now in the treasury, sub-
ject to the appropriation of the general assembly.
