and giving opinions thereon to the juries of inquest, and levy so
much of said account, as they shall deem right and proper, on the
'assessable property of said county, which sum when so assessed
and levied, shall be collected as other county charges are, and paid
over to said Doctor Robert Wright, or his order.

CHAPTER 135.
An act to authorize the justices of the Orphans court of Cecil county, to ap-
appoint their crier.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the jus-
tices of the orphans court, of Cecil county, be, and they are here-
by authorized to appoint their crier from and after the first day of
April next.

2. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Cecil county, is
hereby authorized and directed to levy on the assessable property
of said county annually, a sum of money for the use of the crier
aforesaid, not exceeding one dollar per day for every day that the
Register of Wills shall certify that the said crier acted as such.

CHAPTER 136.

An act to alter and change the name of John Ward of Harford county, to
John Smith Ward.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the name of John Ward of Harford county, in the State of Mary-
land, be, and the same is hereby changed to John Smith Ward,
and it shall and may be lawful for the said John Ward, at all times
hereafter to be called and known by, and hold and use the Dame of
John Smith Ward; and by this name to sue and be sued in any
court of law or equity.

2. And be it enacted, That all promises, contracts, assurances,
deeds and lawful acts whatsoever heretofore made, or hereafter to
be made by or to the said John Smith Ward, shall be of the same
force and effect, and equally valid to all intents and purposes, as
if the name of John Ward had been that of John Smith Ward
from his infancy.

CHAPTER 137.
A supplement to the act entitled, "An Act authorizing and requiring the levy
court of Frederick county, to provide a suitable room for holding the Or-
phans court of said county, and safe keeping of the records and papers of
said court.
Whereas, in the original act, to which this is a supplement, the
levy court of Frederick county, was authorized and required to
provide a suitable room or rooms, in the present fire proof office,
for holding the orphans court of said county, and for the safe keep-
ing of the records and papers of said court; and whereas the levy
court of said county have neglected to comply with the said act;
Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
levy court of Frederick county, be, and they are hereby authorized,
required and directed to provide and make the necessary arrange-
ments in the room in the said fire proof office, immediately over
that now occupied by the clerk of the county as his office, for the
holding of the orphans court, and the safe keeping of the records
and papers of said court, and the necessary expenses far carrying
