whom the suit is brought to try the same at the term to which the
writ is made returnable.
4. And be it enacted, That the said Casparus Meginnis shall not be
liable for any debts to be hereafter contracted by the said Mary Me-
ginnis.

5. And be it enacted, That the annuity hereby directed to be paid,
shall cease on the death of the said Casparus Meginnis, or the said
Mary Meginnis, whichever of them shall first die, and that nothing
herein contained shall in any manner prevent the said Mary, if she
shall survive the said Casparus Meginnis from claiming the part or
share of his estate, real, personal or mixed, which she would be enti-
tled to if this act had not been passed.

6. And be it enacted, That if the said John Crane shall die, or re-
fuse, or neglect to act as trustee as aforesaid, it shall and may be
lawful for the orphans' court of Kent county, on the application of the
said Mary Meginnis, to appoint a trustee for her benefit, who shall
thereupon be vested with all the authority hereby given to the said
John Crane.

CHAPTER 96.
An act for the benefit of Joseph Harris, clerk of Saint Mary's County Court.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Joseph
Harris, clerk of St. Mary's county court, be, and he is hereby autho-
rised and empowered to send out fees in the year eighteen hundred
and twenty-four for collection or execution at any time until the first
day of April next, any thing in any law to the contrary notwithstand-
ing;—Provided, however, that every sheriff in whose hands fees shall
be placed by the said Joseph Harris, for collection, shall be allowed
until the first day of June next, to deliver the accounts of fees or bills
of particulars to the respective persons, and to the twentieth day of
November next, to account for and pay over the money for the said
fees.

CHAPTER 97.
An act for the relief of Samuel Meeds, of Queen Ann's County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Thomas Wright, the third, of Queen Ann's County, be, and he is
hereby authorised and empowered to make and execute a deed of con-
veyance to Samuel Meeds, of the said county, conveying and assu-
ming to him the lands sold by Gustavus W. T. Wright, to the father
of the said Samuel Meeds, by virtue of the act, entitled., an act to ap-
point Gustavus W. T. Wright trustee, to sell and dispose of the lands
therein mentioned, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and nineteen, chapter forty-one.

Passed Feb.

6, 1824.

2. And be it enacted, That such deed duly executed and recorded,
shall have the same force, effect and validity as if the same had been
made and executed by Gustavus W. T. Wright, in his life time, un-
der and by virtue of the act of assembly above recited.

CHAPTER 98.
An act for the relief of Mary Smith, of the City of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
John Smith shall, from the passage of this act, be, and he is hereby
altogether deprived of all and every interest, authority, power and
control, in, over and to the person of Mary Smith, his wife, as fully as
if she had never been married.
