CHAPTER 64.
An act to abolish an useless expense attending Jury Trials.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That from
and after the first day of September next, it shall not be lawful for
any jury or juror, to receive any allowance or fee for hearing a cause,
or for giving his or their verdict, in any cause which may be tried
many of the courts of this state; Provided always, that nothing in
this act contained, shall be in any wise taken or construed to affect
the rights of jurors to their daily allowance as settled and ascertain-
ed by the several acts of assembly in that behalf made and provided.

CHAPTER 65.
An act relating to the Fourth Election District, in Baltimore county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the lines
of the fourth election district, for all future elections in said county,
are hereby declared to be as follows: beginning at Cockey's mill, and
running with the public road to the Deer Park road, then down the
Deer Park road to the top of the Fall's hill, then with the road
through Edmund H. Stockdales' meadow by the widow Beasmans
to Morgan's run, at Thomas Beasman's, then up said run to Jordan's
mill, thence with said run to the head of Banharts meadow, then up
Hawkin's branch to captain Gorsuch's meadow, then up John Mur-
ray's spring branch to its source, then with a straight line to the Fre-
derick county line, near Symon Kylers, to intersect the present line
of the fourth election district, thence with the present location of the
sard district to the beginning; and it shall and may be lawful for all
voters residing within the lines of said district, as now designated,
to vote at the place of holding the election in said district.

CHAPTER 66.
An act to enable Thomas C. Lannan, of Montgomery county, to purchase and
hold real property within this state.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Thomas
C Lannan, a native of Ireland, shall be, and hereby is enabled to
have, hold, take and occupy all such real property within this state,
as the said Thomas C. Lannan may purchase and contract for, and
may sell and dispose of the same in like manner as a natural born
citizen of the United States may, and in case of the death of the
said Thomas C. Lannan,without any disposition of his said real estate
by deed or will, the same shall descend to and be vested in his law-
ful issue or their legal representatives, according to the due and ordi-

nary course of descents; Provided, that nothing herein contained, shall
in any manner interfere with or affect the rights of individuals claim-
ing the said lands or any part thereof; and provided, that the said
Thomas C. Lannan shall within twelve months after his being ca-
pable of becoming a citizen, naturalise himself agreeably to the laws
of the United States, but in case of his death before the expiration
of said twelve months, any property he may have purchased or ac-
quired, shall descend or pass to his legal representatives, in the same
manner as if he had become naturalised.
