No. 47.
Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby authorises
and empowered to loan to the cavalry officers of this state, all or any part
of the holsters now in the armory, on bond with security being executed and
filed in the council chamber, in such penalty as may be prescribed by the go-
vernor and council.
No. 48.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he is hereby au-
thorised and directed to pay to Thomas Lingan, or his order, annually in quar-
terly payments, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a lieutenant, as a fur-
ther compensation for his meritorious services, during the revolutionary war.
No. 49.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, pay to Samuel Stevens Jr.
Governor of Maryland, the sum of one thousand dollars to enable him to fur-
nish the government house with appropriate and suitable furniture.
50.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to John Brewer, Ri-
chard Bennett, William Kilty and Charles C. Maccubbin, one hundred dollars,
each, as an additional compensation for their extraordinary services during the
present session.

Resolved, That all proceedings at the suit of the state against Henry Schroe-
der, of Anne-Arundel county, who was security for Henry Shryock, Sheriff of
Washington county, in the year 1791, be, and the same are hereby. suspended
until the 1st day of November next; Provided, That the said Schroeder within
two months from the passage of this resolution, give bond to the state with se-
curity to be approved of by one of the judges of Anne-Arundel county court, for
the payment of said debt with the interest due thereon, on or before the said
first day of November..

Resolved, That the executions against the securities of Thomas Pollard,
late sheriff of Allegany county, on judgments already obtained, or hereafter to
be obtained at the suit, and in the name of the state of Maryland, in Allegany
county court, shall not lie executed or levied before the first day of January,
1824; Provided, That within two months from the passage of this resolution,
the said securities shall give bond to the state with security to be approved of
by one of the judges of. Allegany county court for the payment of the said debt
with the interest due thereon, on or before the said first day of January 1824.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, be, and he is hereby di-
rected to pay to Thomas Kennedy, late State Agent for the western shore of
Maryland, the commission allowed by the act of December session, 1821, au-
thorising the appointment of an agent, on all debts which he has collected, that
were due and outstanding at the time of his appointment, including a commis-
sion the debt due by the Cumberland bank of Allegany, and on the debt due
by Upton Beall of Montgomery county.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, be, and he is hereby di-
rected to pay to the president and directors of the Farmers' Bank of Maryland,
forty thousand dollars in part payment of the loan authorised by the act of De-
cember session, 1821, chapter 204.

Resolved That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Peter Levering, of
the city of Baltimore, or to his order, annually, and in case of his death, to his
executors, in quarterly payments, the halt pay of a corporal, for the support
and maintenance of Zachariah Roberts, during his life, as a compensation for
services rendered in the revolutionary war.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Shaw and Gam-
brill, or order, the sum of fourteen dollars and fifty cents, due them for station-
ary, since the closing of the journal of accounts; and that the said treasurer pay
to Archibald Lee, Esq. or order, the sum of five dollars, being the expense of
his correspondence, and obtaining the laws of New York relative to canals, as
chairman of the committee, on the Potomac report.

Revolved, That Reverdy Johnson, Esq. be requested to continue the corres-
pondence now pending with the legislature of Pennsylvania on the subject of
run-away slaves, and to report the reason thereof to the next general assembly.
