Dec. Ses. 1821.
Damages.

3. And be it en acted, That the said commissioners, or a ma-
jority of them, shall value and ascertain the damages (if any,) sus-
tained by persons through whose lands the said road may pass,
taking into consideration the advantages and disadvantages attend-
ing the same; and the said damages when so ascertained, shall be
levied and assessed as other county charges are, and paid over to
the persons respectively so as aforesaid injured.

Compensation.

4. AND be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall be
entitled to receive a compensation for their attendance and services
in discharge of their duties as herein prescribed, not exceeding two
dollars a day, to be ascertained by the levy court of said county,
and levied, collected and paid as other county charges are.

CHAPTER 208.

An act relating to a landing place on Wicomico River.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Robert Leatherbury, Marcellus Jones, Littleton Jones, Lit-
tleton Aires, Jesse Hughes and George D. Atkinson, be and they
or a majority of them are hereby appointed commissioners to lay
out a quantity of land for a public landing place on Wicomico Ri-
ver in Somerset county, not exceeding two acres, between the place
called Dochrery's Landing and the Ferry Wharf opposite White
Haven, in such manner as they or a majority of them may think
most conducive to the public benefit; and the said commissioners
or a majority of them are hereby required to return a plot of said
landing place to the clerk of Somerset county, there to be recorded,
together with an estimate of the damage sustained by any person
or persons whose land may be taken, laid out and appropriated in
persuance of this law.

Road may be
altered.

2. And be it enacted, That the beforementioned commissi-
oners or a majority of them, are hereby authorised to alter and
change the public road leading by Dochrery's to White Haven so
as to go around a certain hill near a place called Dochrery's landing
instead of going over as it at present does.

Repeal.

3. And be it enacted, That an act entitled, An act authoris-
ing the making of a public landing at Dochrery's Point in Somerset
county, passed at December session eighteen hundred and twenty,
be and the same is hereby repealed.

Damages.

4. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Somerset coun-
ty are hereby empowered and directed, to assess and levy the
amount of such damages as shall be ascertained by the commissi-
oners aforesaid; which sum of money shall be levied, collected and
paid over, as other county charges are levied, collected and paid
over; also that the commissioners hereby appointed shall have an
allowance of two dollars for each day they shall attend in discharge
of the duties herein required.

of the breed of Fish.
Whereas, It is represented to this general assembly, that some
person or persons unknown are in the habit of erecting fish pots in
the Susquehannah River not constructed according to the provisi-
