CHAP. 111.

may be, to the levy court of said county, together with the plot
and certificate as above directed, and the damages so agreed upon,
or valuation, as the case may be, shall be levied and assessed, in
the manner hereinafter provided, and shall be paid over to the

persons so as aforesaid endamaged; Provided nevertheless, that
no money shall be levied or assessed for the purpose of paying
the damages aforesaid, until the said road is open and cleared,
agreeably to the direction of this act.

Allowance to com-
missioners.

4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall he en-
titled to receive, as a compensation for their services, a sum not
exceeding two dollars per day, each, to be ascertained by the
levy court of said county, which is hereby directed to be levied,
collected and paid, as other county charges are, and that a majo-
rity of the commissioners aforesaid shall be competent to dis-
charge all and singular the duties imposed by this act.

Expenses, how to
be paid.

5. And be it enacted, That all the sums of money necessary for
paying the expense of opening and clearing the said road, for pay-
ing the damages to be agreed on or valued as directed by the
third section of this act, and for paying the compensation of the
said commissioners, shall be raised and paid as follows; that is to
say, one third part thereof by Cecil county, to be levied and as-
sessed by the levy court of the said county on the assessable pro-
perly thereof, as other county levies are, one other third by the
president and directors of the Susquehanna Bridge Company;
commonly called the Conowingo Bridge Company, to be raised
in such manner as the said president and directors shall think fit,
and the remaining third by the city of Baltimore, to be levied and
assessed on the assessable property thereof by the levy court of
Baltimore county, as county charges are, and the levy courts of
Cecil and Baltimore counties are hereby authorised and required,

Proviso.

to make the said levies respectively; Provided always, that when-
ever any sums of money shall be assessed by the said levy courts
respectively, as part of the respective thirds hereby allotted to
Cecil county and the city of Baltimore, notice thereof shall be
given by the said levy courts respectively, to the president
and directors of the Susquehanna Bridge Company aforesaid, and
that such sums, so assessed, shall not be levied and raised until
the said president and directors shall have paid into the hands
of the commissioners aforesaid, a sum equal to that assessed as
aforesaid on Cecil county, and the said commissioners, on re-
ceiving the said payment, shall forthwith give notice thereof to
the said levy courts, whereupon the sums of money assessed as
aforesaid on Cecil county, and the city of Baltimore, shall forth-
with be levied, collected and applied, to the purposes of this act.

Passed Feb. 1, 1821.

Divorce granted.

Rights, interests,
&c., made void.

CHAP. CXII.

An Act tor the relief of Samuel Taylor, of Worcester County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Samuel Taylor, of Worcester county, be and he is hereby divorc-
ed from bed, board, and mutual cohabitation, with his wife Jane
Taylor.
2. And be it enacted, That all rights or interests which may
have heretofore accrued, or would hereafter accrue, cither to the
said Samuel Taylor, or to the said Jane Taylor, and all obliga-
