commissioners when assembled, shall proceed to the discharge of
their duty, first having severally taken an oath that they will
respectively, without favour or prejudice, to the best of their
skill and judgment, run and establish the divisional line or lines
between Baltimore and Frederick counties as nearly as may be,
agreeably to the intent and meaning of the act of the general as-
sembly of Maryland, passed in the year seventeen hundred and
fifty, chapter thirteen, and they shall appoint and contract with
a surveyor, chain-carriers, and other proper necessary assistants
in the performance of their duty.

CHAP. 82.

3. And be it enacted. That the commissioners aforesaid, or a
majority of them, after they shall have carefully run out, marked,
and established the said divisional line as aforesaid described,
shall cause two plots of the same to be made out, and shall make
out also two several certificates under their hands and seals, spe-
cifying the courses, distances, marks and boundaries, fixed and
made by them to designate the said line, one of which said plots
and certificates shall be returned to the clerk of Baltimore coun-
ty court, and the other to be returned to the clerk of Frederick
county court, to be recorded in the land record books of said
counties respectively.

4. And be it enacted. That it shall be the duty of the levy courts
of Baltimore and Frederick counties, to levy and assess on the
inhabitants of their respective counties a reasonable sum to defray
the necessary expenses arising in virtue of this act, one half of
which to be defrayed by each county.

CHAP. LXXXIII.

An Act to prevent the erection of Booths within two miles of any Methodist
Camp or Quarterly Meeting in the several Counties therein mentioned.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
whosoever, from and after the passage of this act, shall erect a
booth or other convenience for the purpose of selling, or shall in
anywise sell or dispose of any spirituous liquors, wine, beer,
cider, ale or porter, within two miles of any methodist camp or
quarterly meeting in Frederick, Cecil, Saint Mary's, Allegany,
Prince George's, Talbot, Queen-Anne's, Anne-Arundel and
Montgomery counties, during the term or continuance of such
meeting, shall forfeit and pay, for every such offence, the sum of
twenty dollars, to be recovered by indictment in the county court
where the offence may be committed, one half to the informer,

nothing herein contained shall be construed to prohibit or pre-
vent any ordinary keeper or retailer, having lawful authority to
do so, from selling any of the aforementioned articles at his or
her respective dwelling-house or store.

Proviso.

2. And be it enacted, That whosoever shall, after the passage, of
this act, sell any bread, meat, cakes, water-melons, or oats or
other horse feed, within two miles of any camp or quarterly
meeting in the county or counties aforesaid, during the term or
continuance of such meeting, without the consent, in writing, of
the chief managers of said meeting, shall forfeit and pay, for
every such offence, the sum of ten dollars, to be recovered and
