respectively given, granted, conveyed, declared and limited, or
intended to be given, granted, conveyed, declared and limited;
and the said lands and premises in the said deeds respectively
described and meant, and intended to be conveyed, shall be and
hereby are absolutely vested in the parties respectively to whom
the said lands are, in and by the said deeds, respectively express-
ed to be conveyed, and their heirs, subject however to the uses
and trusts in the said deeds respectively declared, and free from
any estate, right, claim or interest, of any kind whatsoever, aris-
ing or to arise by from or under the several deeds by this act de-

clared to be void, or cither or any of them; Provided nevertheless,
that nothing in this act contained shall in any wise be construed
to affect the interest, claim or claims, of any creditor or credi-
tors, in law or in equity, of any or either of the parlies named
in this act, that may or might have accrued under, by. or from
any of the conveyances from or to the said Charles Carroll, of
Carrollton, or to or from any other person or persons named in
this act.

Proviso.

CHAP. CXLVIII.

An Act for the benefit of Henry W. Fitzhugh, now of the City of Baltimore.
WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly by the pe-
tition of Henry W. Fitzhugh, an officer of the United States
army, and now of Baltimore, that he is entitled, by inheritance
from his father, to the three following negro slaves: Franky,
Nancy and William, which are house servants, and are at present
in the state of Virginia, and that he is desirous of removing said
slaves to this state for his own private use, so long as lie may bo
stationed within this state; Therefore,

Passed Feb. 12, 1821.

Preamble.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Henry W. Fitzhugh, an officer of the United States army, now
stationed in the city of Baltimore, be and he is hereby authorised
to remove into this state from the state of Virginia, the three fol-
lowing negro slaves, to wit: Franky, Nancy and William, and
them to retain as slaves so long as he may remain an officer of

vertheless, that nothing herein contained shall be construed to au-
thorise a sale or disposition of said slaves in this state, otherwise
than by bequest, in a course of distribution, or by operation of
law.

CHAP. CXLIX.

An Act to in corporate a Lutheran Church in Reister's-Town, Baltimore Coun-

ty.
WHEREAS application hath been made to this general assembly
For an act of incorporation in behalf of the Lutheran Church in
Reister's town, Baltimore county, which may enable them to ma-
nage with convenience their temporal concerns;

Passed Feb. 12, 1821.

Preamble.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
present trustees of the said church, viz. Isaac Dickson, William
Berryman, George Fisher, junior, John Berkley, Samuel Harry -
man, and Philip Reister, and their successors, to he elected agree-
ably to the rules and regulations of said church, shall be, and
hereby are created and declared to be, a body politic and corpa-
