SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of Cecil county, be and he is hereby au-
thorised and required to record said deed among
the land records of Cecil county, aforesaid, and
that when the said deed is recorded, it shall have
the same effect and validity as if it had been duly
acknowledged and recorded, according to the laws
of the State of Maryland, Provided, that nothing
in this act contained shall be construed to preju-
dice the rights or interests of bona fide creditors
or purchasers for valuable consideration, who be-
came such prior to the passage of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 429.

In force.

AN ACT in aid of the benevolent objects of the
Corporation in the city of Baltimore, created
under the act of Assembly of eighteen hundred
and fifty-two, chapter two hundred and thirty-
seven, called "The Home of the Friendless,"
by enabling them to have committed legally to
their care and control, the destitute children
who are the subjects of their charity.

9, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the several justices of the
peace for Baltimore city, may exercise all the
powers granted by the act of eighteen hundred
and twenty-six, chapter one hundred and sixty-one,
to justices of the peace for the city and county of
Baltimore; and that they, and the trustees of the
poor of Baltimore city and county, and the ward
managers of the poor in said city, may commit
to the charge and care of the above named Cor-
poration, ''The Home of the Friendless," instead
of sending to the Alms House, as by the last men-
tioned act required, female children who are des-
titute, or suffering for want of support, or who
