SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That any person or
persons making oath or affirmation, under any of
the provisions of this act, who shall wilfully and
knowingly swear falsely in such oath or affirma-
tion, shall be guilty of perjury, and liable to the
penalty of the same.

One half of
fine to go to in-
former.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That in any prose-
cution for a violation of any of the provisions of
the act, the costs of prosecution shall be deemed
and taken as part of the penalty, and one half of
the fine shall be paid to the informer, who is
hereby made a competent witness; and it shall be
the duty of the grand jury, to endorse on the back
of the indictment the name of the informer.

All licenses to
expire on the
first of May.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That all licenses
granted under the provisions of this act, shall ex-
pire on the first clay of May next, ensuing the
granting thereof.

Fractional li-
censes.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That any person or
persons, body or bodies corporate, commencing any
business requiring a license under the provisions
of this act, in any month of the year, shall be en-
titled to, and may obtain a license or licenses from
the clerk of the Circuit Court of his county, or
from the clerk of the court of Common Pleas of
Baltimore, as the case may be, on paying there-
for a rateable allowance.

Unexpired
licenses.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That all persons
having heretofore obtained a license from this
State, to use and carry on any of the several bran-
ches of business in this act mentioned, which li-
cense shall not have expired, may continue such
business under said unexpired license until the ex-
piration thereof, after which expiration, and not
before, they and all of them shall become subject
to the provisions of this act, and all persons here-
tofore required to purchase of the State a license
to exercise or carry on any branch of business or
pursuit, for which no provision is made in this
law, nor any new rate of charge for such license
fixed herein, shall be and remain subject to the
rates and provisions of previous laws on those
subjects applicable to them, or to the business or
occupation they severally and respectively pursue.
