CHAPTER 382.

AN ACT relating to the collection of taxes in
Harford county.

Passed March
10, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the collectors of taxes in
Harford county, shall have all the powers to col-
lect the county taxes by distress or execution,
which they now have to collect the State taxes,
and the same course of proceedings shall be pur-
sued; and that the county shall have till the first
of August next, to make the levy for the present
year.

CHAPTER 383.

Empowered to
enforce collec-
tions.

AN ACT to incorporate the Maryland Mutual
Insurance Company of Baltimore.

10, 1858.

SECTION 1. He it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Galloway Cheston, "Wil-
liam Crichton, George N. Eaton, J. J. Abrahams,
William H. Brune, James J. Fisher, Horatio L.
Whitridge, Charles Morton Steuart, Robert Lehr,
Robert R. Kirkland, Otho H. Williams and James
A. Hooper, their associates and successors are
hereby made a corporation, by the name of Mary-
land Mutual Insurance Company of Baltimore,
with full authority and power to make insurances
on vessels, merchandise, freight, specie, bullion,
commissions, profits, bank notes, bills of exchange
and other evidences of debt, bottomry, ad respon-
dentia interests and all other personal property,
at sea on land or water, or connected with risk of
conveyance by sea, land or water, and to lend
money on bottomry and ad respondentia interests,
and generally to transact all business, enter into
all contracts, and take all security, for and rela-
tive to the objects aforesaid, and to cause said
company to be re-insured, when deemed expedient,
