LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 315.

Passed March
10, 1858.

AN ACT amendatory of an act, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and forty-nine,
chapter three hundred and twenty-five, entitled,
a supplement to an act to incorporate the Cum-
berland Savings Institution.

May change
name.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the "Cumberland Savings
Bank," be and is hereby authorised, whenever the
President and Directors of said bank shall deem
it expedient, to change the name of said bank to

Proviso.

that of "Cumberland City Bank ;" Provided, that
before said bank shall issue any notes under the
name authorised by this act, the Treasurer shall
be certified of the change by a copy of such reso-
lution on the part of said bank, under the hand
of the President and corporate seal of said bank.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 316.

Passed March
10, 1858.

A SUPPLEMENT to the act to provide for car-
rying into effect the twenty-second section of
the fourth article of the Constitution, passed
January session, eighteen hundred and fifty-two,
chapter sixty-eight.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That whenever any of the Cir-
cuit judges of this State, or any of the courts of
Baltimore city, shall be unable to sit in any cause
or causes, civil or criminal, pending in his court,
by reason of sickness or any other cause, it shall
be the duty of the clerk of such court, to certify
to some other judge, that the judge thereof is una-
ble to sit, and shall state in his certificate, the
cause of the inability of the judge to sit, and any
