SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
be in force from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 312.

Passed Febru-
ary 30, 1858.

AN ACT to incorporate the Old Road Turn-
pike Company in Baltimore county.

Object of in-
corporation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That a company be incorporated
to make a turnpike road, beginning at the inter-
section of the road commonly called the Old Fre-
derick Road, with the Fredericktown Turnpike
Road, near the three mile stone on said road, and
over the present bed of and extending along the
said Old Frederick Road, until the same inter-
sects the Fredericktown Turnpike Road, at or
near Ellicott's Mills.

Books to be
opened.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That a subscription
book shall be opened in the city of Baltimore, or
any other place convenient to said road, for capi-
tal stock of twenty-five thousand dollars, in shares
of twenty dollars each, under the direction of
Ross Campbell, James E. Dorsey, James Beatty,
Jr., Harmon Simon, Joseph A. Thomas and
John L. Reese Jr., or any three of them, who are
hereby appointed commissioners for the purpose
aforesaid, and who shall on or before the first day
of March next, give notice in one of the daily
newspapers published in the city of Baltimore,
for five days at least, of the time when, and the
place where the said books will be open to receive
subscriptions for stock of the Old Turnpike Road
Company, at which time and place, at least three
of the respective commissioners shall attend, and
shall permit and suffer all persons and corpora-
tions who shall offer to subscribe in person or by
attorney duly authorised in the said books, which
shall be kept open for that purpose, at least four
hours every day for four days, if it be necessary.
