take effect from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 309.

AN ACT for the relief Thomas J. Pierpoint and
the legal representatives of Jacob Ledley and
and Francis Feelemyer.

County Com-
missioners may
release from
the payment of
interest.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commission-
ers of Baltimore county are hereby authorised, if
by them deemed advisable, to release Thomas J.
Pierpoint and the legal representatives of Jacob
Ledley and Francis Feelemyer, from the payment
of the interest and costs of suit and other process
on judgments obtained by the State of Maryland
for the use of the County Commissioners of Balti-
more county, in the Circuit Court for said county,
against them an sureties on the tax collector's
bonds of Gideon Herbert, Jr., Provided, the prin-
cipal of said judgments shall be paid to the
County Commissioners aforesaid on or before the
first day of September, eighteen hundred and
fifty-eight.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
