SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the provisions
of this act shall be construed to embrace not only
the present trustees, but any and all trustees per-
forming said trust.

CHAPTER 292.

AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore City Guard.

8, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That James H. Millikin, Alfred
W. Thompson, Joseph P. Warner, Lloyd B.
Parks, David C. Woodburn, Emerson L. Mat-
thews, Daniel J. Emich, Thomas R. Jeffereys,
Ellis Coleman and Frisby Lloyd, of the city of
Baltimore, and all other persons who are now
members of the Military Company, known as the
Baltimore City Guard, and their successors, be
and they are hereby constituted a body corporate,
by the name and style of the Baltimore City
Guard, and by that name shall have perpetual
succession, Rue and be sued, plead and be im-
pleaded, answer and defend, in any court of law
or equity in this State, shall have, make and use
a common seal, and the same break, change or re-
new at pleasure; may take, hold and possess real,
personal and mixed property, not exceeding in
value fifty thousand dollars, by gift, grant, pur-
chase, bequest or devise, to be used for the general
purposes of the organization, and the same, or any
part thereof, to grant, sell, transfer, lease and con-
vey, and may ordain and establish such by-laws,
rules and regulations, as they may deem neces-
sary or proper for conducting the affairs of said
Corporation, and shall not be contrary to the Con-
stitution and laws of the United States of America

or of this State.

Incorporated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said organiza-
tion shall have power to form a battalion to be
composed of not less than five Companies, which
