through the property of said Lloyd N. Rogers,
and in its progress through said property, it shall
commence on Newington lane at the point of
division between said Rogers' land and the land of
Mrs. Croft, as set forth by this act.

Authorised to
erect a toll
gate.

SEC. 14. And be, it enacted, That when said road
is finished and perfected to its northern terminus,
in the manner prescribed in the ninth section of
this act, the said company shall be authorised to
erect a toll gate thereon, and to charge and
receive tolls at such rates in all respects, and upon
such terms, conditions and limitations as are pre-
scribed in reference to the Baltimore and Reisters-
town Turnpike company by their charter or any
supplement thereto.

SEC. 15. And be if enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT entitled, a supplement to the act enti-
tled, an act to incorporate the Conowingo Bridge
Company.
|
|
|
Power to ac-
quire lands.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Conowingo Bridge Com-
pany, shall have full power to acquire all the lands
necessary to the building of said bridge, and erect-
ing toll houses, not exceeding eight acres, and
shall have power to make bridges over the Tide
Water canal, and Maryland canal, so as to pass
from the bridge over the Susquehanna, to the pub-
lic road in Cecil and Harford counties; Provided,
said bridges be so constructed as not to materially
impede or obstruct the navigation of said canals.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
pany may acquire by gift or purchase, any lands
which may be required for the construction of said
bridge, or the bridges over said canals, or to erect
toll houses, or make the necessary roads to con-
nect said bridge with the public roads near the
