CHAPTER 326.

AN ACT to authorise the Orphans' Courts of this
State to order the sale or location, transfer or as-
signment of land warrants issued to minor heirs
of deceased soldiers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Judges of the Orphans'
Courts for the several counties in this State and the
city of Baltimore, be and are hereby authorised and
empowered to order the location, sale, transfer or as-
signment of any bounty land warrant issued by the
government of the United States, or descended to any
minor heir or heirs, in this State, of deceased sol-
diers, under the age of twenty-one years, to be made
or done by the guardians of such minor heirs re-
spectively, pursuant to the laws and regulations of the
United States, as fully and effectually as can be done
by adult holders of bounty land warrants; and which
sale, transfer or assignment of such land warrants,
by said guardians shall vest in the purchasers there-
of all right, title, claim and interest of the said minor
owners thereof, either at law or equity, in and to the
same; and the money arising from the sale of such
bounty land warrants shall be accounted for by said
guardians in the Orphans' Court of the proper coun-
ty, or city of Baltimore, according to existing laws
of this State.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for the pur-
pose of effecting the location, sale, transfer or assign-
ment of bounty land warrants under this act, held by
female minors between the age of eighteen and twen-
ty one years, the right to appoint guardians in such
cases only, be and is hereby conferred on the several
Orphans' Courts in this State.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
