hundred and fifty thousand dollars, and thereafter the
net earnings of the company shall be applied from
year to year, towards the redemption of said divi-
dend certificates, in such manner as the board shall
deem most advisable.

To take effect.
Proviso.
|
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and immediately after its passage;
Provided, however, that nothing therein contained,
shall be construed to invalidate any lawful contracts
made, or acts done, by the said Ocean Mutual Insu-
rance Company, under and by virtue of the sections
of the said original act, which are hereby repealed, .
or to impair any of the rights of the said company,
or persons dealing with it acquired under the same,
or to prevent the said company and its lawful officers
from continuing lawfully to act, under the said repeal-
ed sections, or any of them, so far as they may find
it convenient or necessary so to do, until such time
as the said company, shall have fully reorganized
under the provisions of this act, and of the original act
aforesaid, so for as the same remain by this act un-
repealed.

bridge across the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal and
the Potomac River, at Hancock, in Washington
county.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assem-
bly of the State of Maryland, that the public inter-
est and convenience would be much promoted by
the construction of a bridge across the Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal and the Potomac River, at Han-
cock, in Washington county, in this state; there-
fore,
