SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall be taken or understood to prevent the
authorised agent of the United States from making a
purchase of the property that may be required for the
establishment of said light house, dwelling, and out
houses as a garden patch.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the property
so purchased, and not exceeding ten acres, shall be
ceded to the said United States in the same manner as
if the commissioners had met, valued and condemned
the property.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
go into effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 208.

AN ACT to authorise the county commissioners of
Frederick county, at their discretion, to levy a sum
of money to construct a bridge across Tom's creek
in Frederick county.

SECTION 1. Be it. enacted by the General Assem-
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Frederick county be and they are hereby authorised,
if in their judgment the public interests require it, to
levy a sum of money on the assessable property of
said county, sufficient to build a bridge across Tom's
creek in Frederick county, on the great public road
leading from Emmettsburg to Middleburg, at the ford
near S. Maxel's Mill.
