Election
of officers.

Proviso.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That each share of stock
shall entitle the holder thereof to one vote in the elec-
tion of officers, &c., Provided, said person or corpora-
tion hold no more than ten shares, but when more than
that number of shares are held, the holder thereof shall
only cast one vote for every five shares, after casting the
ten votes.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the stockholders in
said company shall be and they are hereby incorporated
and constituted a body politic by the name of the Dula-
ney's Valley and Towsontown Turnpike Company, and
by the same name shall have succession during the con-
tinuance of this corporation, and the said stockholders
and their successors, by the name aforesaid, shall sue
and be sued, answer and be answered, in any court of
law and equity in this State, may have and use a com-
mon seal, which they may alter, change or amend at
pleasure.

Subscrip-
tions to be
paid.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the sums subscribed
to the stock of said company shall be paid to the Presi-
dent and Directors of said company, in such manner
and in such instalments and at such times as the said
President and Directors may direct and appoint, they
giving at least one month notice in all the newspapers
published in Baltimore county, of the payments re-
quired.

tions.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That after the President
and Directors are elected in the manner hereinbefore
mentioned, they shall have full power and authority to
receive subscriptions for all subscribed stock or vacant
shares, and after the said election, the power hereinbe-
fore vested in the commissioners for receiving subscrip-

tions shall cease: Provided nevertheless, That when
either the capital stock, or a sum sufficient for the com-
pletion of said road is subscribed for, no further sub-
scription shall be received.

Rates of
toll.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said company
shall cause to be made upon the bed of the said Turn-
pike road an artificial road of stone, gravel, wood, or
some other hard substance, the bed of which shall be
at least twenty feet wide, and shall forever hereafter, du-
ing the continuance of said corporation, maintain and
keep the same in good order and repair, and cause
bridges or culverts to be erected over the waters crossing
said road, commencing at either end thereof, anil when
two and a half miles of said road shall have been com-
pleted in the manner aforesaid, it shall and may be law-
ful for said company to erect a toll-gate thereon, and
