establishment and the proper conduct and manage-
ment of such business.

Invested with
right and au-
thority.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of
enabling the said Company to transport the produce
of its mines and manufactories to. market, it shall,
have and is hereby vested with full right and autho-

rity to make, construct, and use such railways as may
be necessary to establish connexions between its
mines and manufactories and the railways of the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, and of the

Proviso.

George's Creek Coal and Iron Company; Provided,
such connexions be formed subject to the respective
rights and privileges of these companies and in pur
suance of the mode prescribed in their respective
charters. And that for the purpose of better enabling
the said Preston Coal and Iron Company of the State
of Virginia to make such connecting railways it is
hereby invested with full power and authority to take
and condemn land or other property to be used for
such connecting railways in the manner and subject
to the same limitations in respect to the width of road
and the rates of toll as are prescribed in the act in-
corporating the George's Creek Coal and Iron Com-
pany.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That for the purposes
of this act, the said Company shall be and is hereby
authorized to raise or borrow money and to issue its
bonds for the same bearing interest at the legal rate ;
the principal and interest to be payable at such times
respectively as may be therein prescribed, provided
that none of said bonds shall be for a less denomina-
tion than one hundred dollars, and that the aggregate
of said Bonds outstanding at one time shall not ex-
ceed one hundred thousand dollars; and that noth-
ing herein contained shall be construed to authorise
the said Company to make and issue bank notes,
scrip or other device intended for circulation as a cur-
rency.

Reservation.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act may be
altered, amended or repealed from time to time at
the pleasure of the Legislature.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
