any citizen of this State, free of charge, and specially
furnish the applicant with an accurate statement of
the result.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the trustees afore-
mentioned shall have the care, control and manage-
ment of all the real and personal property and money
of the said company, and shall appoint a register
and cause to be registered in a book to be kept for
that purpose, all the acts, orders and proceedings of
the said board of trustees at their several meetings,
and they shall determine upon the times of meeting,
which meetings shall be held at the college aforesaid
not less than four times in each year thereafter, and
the said board of trustees shall at every session of
the legislature present in printed pamphlet form a
full and correct report of the condition of the said
Agricultural College and Model Farm, and the con-
dition or final results of all experiments undertaken
as provided for in the foregoing section.

Management.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That if within two
years from the first day of February eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-six, the said stockholders shall have re-
ceived bona fide subscriptions for two thousand
shares of twenty-five dollars each, to the stock afore-
said, and shall have elected trustees as aforesaid, and
shall have purchased the lands for the model farm,
not less than fifty acres, and shall have erected
thereon the buildings necessary for the college and
farm purposes, that the said stockholders under the
name and style of the Maryland Agricultural College
shall be entitled from the Treasury of the State of
Maryland, to the annual sum of six thousand dol-
lars, which said annual sum of six thousand dollars
is hereby appropriated out of any unappropriated
money in the Treasury as an annual endowment of
the said Maryland Agricultural College, and shall by
the board of trustees hereinbefore mentioned be ap-
plied to the payment of salaries of professors and
such other purposes as shall promote the welfare and
success of the said Agricultural College, and upon
notice being given in writing by the said Maryland
Agricultural College, that the subscriptions aforesaid
have been bona fide made, and a board of trustees
duly appointed, and the lands for said model farm
have been purchased and the necessary buildings
erected thereon as aforesaid, to the Comptroller of
the Treasury, he shall forthwith if at any time before
the first day of February, eighteen hundred and fifty-
