Magistrates and other Justices of the Peace of said County [, and
they]; provided, the authority, powers and jurisdiction heretofore,
or as may hereafter be vested in said other Justices of the Peace
shall be unaffected by this provision. The Judges of the People's
Court
shall further have the power to suspend sentence and/or
costs in any case within their jurisdiction within ten days after
judgment has been pronounced. The laws which heretofore have
specified the fees chargeable by trial magistrates and justices of the
peace in Montgomery County and also the laws previously concern-
ing the right of appeal from the trial magistrates and justices of the
peace in Montgomery County shall continue in all respects to be
effective as to the people's court of Montgomery County herein
created.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1956.

CHAPTER 13
(House Bill 12)

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
issue certificates of indebtedness of said corporation to an amount
not exceeding Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars
($3,500,000), the proceeds of the same to be expended for the
acquisition, by purchase, condemnation or any other legal means,
of land or property, or any rights therein, in the City of Balti-
more, and constructing and erecting on said land or property, or
on any land or property now or hereafter owned by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, new Enoch Pratt Free Library Branch
Buildings and other auxiliary facilities, and for additions and im-
provements to, or the reconstruction of, existing Enoch Pratt Free
Library Buildings, and for the reconstruction, renovation, moderni-
zation or improvement of any buildings or structures now or here-
after owned by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore and to be
used to house the functions or activities of the Enoch Pratt Free
Library System, and for the purchase, acquisition, installation and
erection of any and all kinds of furniture and equipment for any
and all of the new facilities authorized to be constructed, erected or
acquired by the provisions hereof, and for the purchase, acquisi-
tion, installation and erection of any and all kinds of library or
auxiliary equipment for the Enoch Pratt Free Library System or
for alterations to, or the replacement of, any such existing equip-
ment now being used by, or in connection with, the Enoch Pratt
Free Library System; and for doing any and all things necessary
in connection therewith or pertaining thereto; and to authorize
said municipality to submit an ordinance or ordinances for said
