House Bill No. 8—By the Wicomico County Delegation:

A Bill entitled ""An Act to add Section 320B to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1955 Supplement), title
'Crimes and Punishments', sub-title 'Gaming', said new section to follow
immediately after Section 320 A thereof, authorizing and empowering the
Board of County Commissioners of Wicomico County to permit the
holding of carnivals and the playing of certain games of chance at such
carnivals and relating generally to the holding of carnivals and playing
of certain games of chance in said county."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Wicomico County
Delegation,

House Bill No. 9—By the Howard County Delegation:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 97 and 99 of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title 'Howard County', sub-title 'County Treas-
urer', as enacted or amended by Chapters 397 and 399 of the Acts of
19jt3 and by Chapter 516 of the Acts of 1955 and to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Section 2 of Chapter 516 of the Acts of 1955, relating
to the time from which taxes shall bear interest and be discountable;
changing the method and time of installment payment of said taxes;
establishing the time when said taxes shall become due and payable; pro-
viding for the sale by the Treasurer of property upon which taxes are
due and in arrears; and relating generally to the imposition and collection
of taxes in Howard County."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Howard County
Delegation and Mr. Kirkland.

House Bill No. 10—By the Garrett County Delegation:

A Bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower the County Com-
missioners of Garrett County to borrow upon the faith and credit of
Garrett County a sum of money not to exceed a sum of money representing
that amount which can be amortized over a twenty-five year period by
use of the funds received by said Garrett County from the State of Mary-
land under the provisions of Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1956 at a rate of
interest not to exceed three per centum (3%) and to issue notes and/or
bonds therefor, for the purpose of acquiring sites, erecting and equipping
school buildings and building additions to existing school buildings, and
equipping same; providing for the levying of taxes by said County Com-
missioners to repay the loan and interest thereon, and providing that said
loan and every part thereof and the interest payable thereon, shall remain
exempt from State, County and municipal taxation, and providing for
the use of funds levied and collected under said Act."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Garrett County
Delegation.

House Bill No. 11—By the Montgomery County Delegation:

A Bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 92A and 92B of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1955 Supplement), title 'Justices of the Peace', sub-title 'Trial Magis-
