RESULTS OF REFERENDUM VOTES
1955, Ch. 546—Cresaptown

To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, Blanchard Randall, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 210 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) DO
hereby certify, That at a special Referendum Election held in the
Town of Cresaptown, Allegany County, Maryland, April 2, 1956, an
Act known as Chapter 546 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1955, was submitted to the voters of the Town of Cresaptown, Alle-
gany County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Chapter 546 of the Acts of 1955, said Act being as
follows:
"An Act to authorize empower and direct the "Cresaptown Civic
Improvement Association" to provide for the construction,
maintenance and operation of street lights within Cresaptown
Special Taxing Area or District."
and I DO certify, that at such election 34 votes were cast in
favor of the adoption of Chapter 546 of the Acts of 1955, and 101
votes were cast against the adoption of said Chapter 546, and a
majority of the votes being cast against the adoption of Chapter 546
of the Acts of 1955, the said Act has failed of ratification by the
voters of Cresaptown, Allegany County, Maryland.

(Secretary of Annapolis, this 13th day of April, 1956.
