(d)  which pro rata computation is made by the use of the following
formula:

in which formula "b" represents "benefits provided by Section 8" and
"c. s." represents "years of creditable service", except that the ratio
of "c. s divided by 25" shall not be applied to any beneficiary who
was, or member who may be retired for disability having less than 25
years of creditable service, and

(e)  provided that the retirement alloivance used in calculating the
supplementary payment shall be the total benefits provided in Section
8 of this Article except that it shall not be based on any optional
benefit chosen by the beneficiary or member.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July Si 1, 1956.

CHAPTER 126
(House Bill 86)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", to be here-
after known as Section 407A, to follow immediately after Section
407 of said title, and to be under a new sub-title "Middle Atlantic
Interstate Forest Fire Protection Compact", authorizing the Gov-
ernor, on behalf of the State of Maryland, to execute a compact,
as set out in this bill, with any one or more of the States of Dela-
ware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia;
said compact providing for the integration of forest fire plans of
the compacting states, relating to the maintenance of adequate
forest fire fighting services and to mutual aid in fighting forest
fires among such states.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section to be known as Section 407A, be and it is hereby
added to Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edi-
tion) , title "Natural Resources", to be under the new sub-title "Middle
Atlantic Interstate Forest Fire Protection Compact", to follow im-
mediately after Section 407 thereof, and all to read as follows:

407A, (a) The Governor on behalf of this State is hereby au-
thorized to execute a compact, in substantially the following form,
