Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 322 (n) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "Retail
Sales Tax Act", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
322.
(n). Sales of transportation and communication services, includ-
ing the printing and sales of newspapers

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 4956 1957.

CHAPTER 118
(House Bill 124)
AN ACT to repeal AND RE-ENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS, Sec-
tion 119 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Teachers' Retirement
System", said section relating to provisions of other laws which
provide in any way for benefits or retirement benefits for teachers,
their widows or other dependents, AND BEING AMENDED IN
ORDER TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION AS TO BENEFITS FROM
SOCIAL SECURITY.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 119 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Public Education" sub-title "Teachers' Retire-
ment System", be and it is hereby repealed AND RE-ENACTED,
WITH AMENDMENTS, TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
119. (LIMITATION ON MEMBERSHIP.) NO OTHER PRO-
VISION IN ANY OTHER STATUTE WHICH PROVIDES
WHOLLY OR PARTLY AT THE EXPENSE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND FOR PENSIONS OR RETIREMENT BENE-
FITS FOR TEACHERS OF THE SAID STATE, THEIR WIDOWS,
OR OTHER DEPENDENTS, SHALL APPLY TO MEMBERS OR
BENEFICIARIES OF THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM ESTAB-
LISHED BY THIS SUB-TITLE, THEIR WIDOWS OR OTHER
DEPENDENTS, EXCEPT BENEFITS FROM SOCIAL SECUR-
ITY.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1956.
