rig is licensed, for one year.

(d) Transfer of Boat and License—It shall be lawful for the
owner of any licensed hydraulic or mechanical dredge boat or rig,
whenever said owner shall sell and convey by bill of sale for a bona
fide consideration such boat or rig to any person who has been a
resident of this State for at least one year, to transfer said license
to said purchaser with said boat provided said purchaser shall be
a bona fide resident of the County in which such dredge or rig is
licensed, for at least one year. Such license so transferred shall
entitle said purchaser to the same privileges of taking or catching
soft shell clams with hydraulic or mechanical dredge that the orig-
inal owner had before such assignment; provided both seller and
purchaser appear before the Commission of Tidewater Fisheries and
make oath to all facts, matters and things made in the application
for such license and that the purchaser pay said Commission the
sum of Five Dollars ($5.00), and said Commission shall certify on
the license that such sum has been paid.
(e) Measurements of Rig—Each boat or rig shall have but one
conveyor or elevator for taking soft shell clams, not to exceed
sixteen (16) NINETEEN (19) feet in length, measured from axle
to axle. Each boat or rig shall MAY be equipped with NOT MORE
THAN one blade and one water manifold each not exceeding thirty-
six (36) inches in width.
(f) Display of License—The captain, master or operator of any
licensed hydraulic or mechanical dredge boat or rig for the taking
of soft shell clams shall always have such license on board his boat
or rig and shall exhibit the same whenever it shall be requested by
any duly authorized officer or employee of the Department of Tide-
water Fisheries.
(g) Minimum Size of Soft Shell Clams—It shall be unlawful for
any person to have soft shell clams in his possession which contain
more than five percent (5%) per bushel of such clams measuring
less than two (2) inches measured along the longest dimension
ACROSS THE SHELL; and any such soft shell clams taken from
the waters of this State shall be forthwith returned to the bed or bar
from which they were taken.
(h) Time for Taking and Landing—It shall be unlawful for any
person to take or catch soft shell clams on Sunday, or between sun-
set and sunrise on any other day, or to land soft shell clams earlier
than one hour before sunrise or later than one hour after sunset.
(i) Prohibited Areas—It shall be unlawful to take or catch or
attempt to take or catch soft shell clams with a hydraulic or
mechanical dredge or with any other type gear upon any Natural
Oyster Bar as defined in THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF SECTION
649 (I) OF this Article.
(j) Dredge on Unlicensed Boats—It shall be unlawful for the
owner or master or any person on board any boat or floating rig in
this State to have affixed to said boat or floating rig any hydraulic
or mechanical dredge while said boat or floating rig is being sailed
or operated on the navigable waters of this State, unless said boat
or floating rig be licensed as hereinbefore provided.
